What is Stress and How Stress Management can be useful?





Lately in this fast moving world , people are indulged in different activities that keeps on pushing the limits which causes stress and today I am going to tell you how you can do stress management easily.

Now let us talk about what stress actually is ?

Stress is a feeling of physical or emotional tension , In layman terms:  Stress is your body’s reaction to a demand or a challenge. Now that you’ve understood what stress is , we move further towards. But before that we are going to take a look on what effects does stress have on our body.

 

Stress is a normal feeling…. but

There are two main types of stress :

1. Acute Stress

This is short-term stress that goes away quickly. You feel it when you slam on the brakes, have a fight with your partner, or ski down a steep slope. It helps you manage dangerous situations. It also occurs when you do something new or exciting. All people have acute stress at one time or another

2. Chronic Stress

This is stress that lasts for a longer period of time. You may have chronic stress if you have money problems, an unhappy marriage, or trouble at work. Any type of stress that goes on for weeks or months is chronic stress. You can become so used to chronic stress that you don’t realize it is a problem. If you don’t find ways to manage stress, it may lead to health problems.

Now we will talk about the symptoms of stress , The Symptoms of Stress are :

  • Diarrhea or constipation
  • Forgetfulness
  • Frequent aches and pains
  • Headaches
  • Lack of energy or focus
  • Sexual problems
  • Stiff jaw or neck
  • Tiredness
  • Trouble sleeping or sleeping too much
  • Upset stomach
  • Use of alcohol or drugs to relax
  • Weight loss or gain

How to do Stress Management ?

1. Avoid

Avoid people who stress you out , Stay away from them and most importantly ‘LEARN TO SAY NO ! ‘

2. Alter

If you cannot avoid the situation , try to alter . Try to express your feelings instead of keeping it inside you. Do not hesitate to compromise and be willing to accept your faults and move on.

3. Adapt

If you are unable to change the stressor , then you should change yourself  not because you are wrong but to tackle the stress and to avoid it you need to adapt the situations.

4. Accept

Some of the situations are unavoidable and cannot be prevented when it comes to stress , so you must accept those situations like serious illness , national recession or death of a family member , Share your feelings with someone and relive yourself.

Conclusion
